Early Life
Micah Messer was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama. Homeschooled for ten years before completing his high school education at Emmanuel Christian School, Micah spent much of his youth outdoors exploring nature or learning hands-on skills while helping his grandfather renovate old World War II barracks into apartments. These early experiences fostered a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and community.
After high school, Micah attended the University of South Alabama, where he majored in Computer and Information Systems and minored in Military Science. During his time at the university, he was actively involved in campus leadership and civic engagement. He served as a Student Government Association Senator for two years and was later appointed Chief Justice. Micah also led the university’s chapter of Ratio Christi, a Christian apologetics organization, and was an active member of College Conservatives, Students for Concealed Carry, and Students for Life—all while completing the Senior ROTC program and preparing for military service.

Veteran
Upon graduating college, Mr. Messer was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Alabama Army National Guard and continues to serve the state as the Communications Staff Officer for the 731st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
Over the course of his military career, he has been promoted to First Lieutenant and entrusted with several key leadership roles. These include serving as Acting Commander of his Signal Company for nearly a year, conducting Line-of-Duty investigations, and supporting Joint-Force Headquarters during the COVID-19 pandemic as an assistant J6 (Joint Communications Officer)—a role in which he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
From November 2024 through June 2025, Mr. Messer served as the Information Service Support Supervisor for the Alabama Army National Guard, overseeing critical communications infrastructure and support. He is also an active member of the American Legion, continuing his commitment to serving both his state and fellow veterans.
Law Enforcement
One of Mr. Messer’s earliest roles after college was serving as a Police Officer with the Columbus, Georgia Police Department. While residing just outside Smiths Station, he proudly protected and served the people of Columbus from 2017 to 2019 as a patrol officer. During this time, he gained firsthand experience in the realities of being part of the “thin blue line,” responding to a wide spectrum of high-stakes situations including armed robberies, homicides, narcotics trafficking, theft, and domestic violence.
These intense experiences taught Mr. Messer how to remain calm under pressure, make critical decisions in life-threatening scenarios—such as facing a knife-wielding suspect or pursuing a drug dealer who had abandoned a child across six lanes of traffic—and operate with integrity and composure in the face of both internal and external challenges.

Volunter
Mr. Messer holds a Private Pilot Certificate along with High-Performance and Complex Aircraft Endorsements. Combining his aviation expertise and leadership as a military officer, he currently serves as the Deputy Commander of the Auburn Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol—a nationwide auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force that supports search and rescue missions, aerospace education, and youth mentorship through its cadet program. Following Hurricane Helene, Mr. Messer put his piloting skills to work by volunteering with Operation Airdrop, flying nearly 1,000 pounds of critical supplies to communities in urgent need of assistance.
Beyond his service in the air and uniform, Mr. Messer is also deeply involved in his local church, MidTree, where he contributes to the audio/visual team. He previously served at Village Church, where his roles included leading the church security team, playing drums on the worship team, and supporting audio/visual operations—demonstrating a consistent commitment to both safety and service in his community.
Home Life
Mr. Messer is happily married to his wife, Jessica, and together they share their home with a spirited husky mix named “Captain.” Jessica plays a vital role in supporting Micah’s small business ventures and pursues her own creative passions, including drawing, watercolor painting, and sourdough baking—much to Micah’s delight, especially when it comes to her homemade cinnamon rolls and cheesecake.
Micah’s personal interests are equally diverse, ranging from piloting to producing flight simulation content on YouTube. He also enjoys hands-on work and home improvement projects—skills first taught to him by his grandfather and further developed through years of self-teaching. From carpentry to plumbing and everything in between, Micah approaches each task with curiosity, discipline, and a drive to learn.

Small Business Owner
Micah is the founder of two small businesses that reflect both his creative passion and technical expertise. The first, M. Messer TV, has been active in various forms since 2012 and serves as a creative outlet for both Micah and Jessica. The company specializes in high-quality video production, including filming, editing, and producing content for weddings, events, and special projects.
His second venture, Messer Technologies, was launched in 2024 to meet the growing demand for reliable and professional I.T. services. The business offers comprehensive technical support for individuals and companies, with a particular focus on partnering with local businesses and providing churches with tailored audio/visual and I.T. solutions. Since its founding, Messer Technologies has seen steady growth, earning a reputation as a trusted one-stop shop for technology services in the community.
